Obituary

Funeral services for Alton Holland will be held Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 1 p.m. from the Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Harvel Davis (Pops), Eulogist and Rev. H. C. Rockmore Sr., Pastor. Burial, Pine Grove Cemetery-Holland Quarter.

On August 28, 1978, a beautiful baby boy was born to Wanda Holland. His name was Alton Keith Roshard Holland. Keith attended schools in the Carthage Independent School District where he received many awards in academics and attendance and was loved by his teachers. He attended Truck Driving School of Dallas where he received his CDL License. Keith accepted God at an early age and was baptized at Pine Grove Baptist Church by Reverend Edgar Tatum Jr. Knowing that he had God in his heart, heavenly Father, we ask that you keep Keith close to your heart and spirit as we will ours.

Keith was very outgoing, talented and bright young man. He lived life to the fullest and had a passion for laughter, friendship, and most of all life. Keith always wore a smile and had a beautiful personality to match. He was very energetic, at time rowdy, but always private. You never had to wonder what was on his mind, he would tell you for sure.

Keith grew up in a home with a family who nurtured and loved him very much. Keith will be dearly missed. Growing up, Keith enjoyed dancing, singing, writing poems, participating in sports at school, traveling on summer vacations and playing video games. Keith loved to swim and loved to dress in the latest fashions. Having a great love for cars and trucks, that was his passion. Keith had a one of a kind grandmother, Myrel Holland, who bid him farewell in 1993 leaving her footprints on his heart.

On January 23, 2007, Keith was admitted to Good Shepherd Medical Center and diagnosed with meningitis. Keith fought this disease with courage. He allowed his transition to be completed and at the command of Jesus he surrendered on February 26, 2007. Now as you sit and read, we the family know that he made peace with God. We bid him farewell as he begins his new journey.

He leaves his footprints on the hearts of his parents Wanda and Harvel Davis of Longview, TX; biological father, L. B. Allison; brothers, Robby Fowler, Mister Davis and Danny all of Longview; sister, Summer of Longview; a special lady, Nichole; grandfather, Thurman "Pete" Holland; and a number of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends too numerous to count and name.
