Funeral Service for Mr. Anthony 'Tony' Jones will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2011 at T.G. Field Auditorium, Longview,Texas with the Rev. H. C. Rockmore, Sr., Officiating. Burial Jordan Valley Memorial Park.

Anthony was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on August 31, 1953, to Ruby and Charles Jones. He was reared in El Dorado, where his frist home was with his grandmother, Selma Walker, his mother and her ten brothers and sisters. Later, he would move to a house on Center Street with his mother and stepfather, Herbert Williams.

He began school at Watson Elementary, was promoted to Washington High, and eventually graduated from El Dorado High School (EDHS). While at EDHS, he was a standout pupil, member of the symphony band, and a force on the football field. A 213 pound, bruising running back, he twice rushed for over 1,000 yards and over 20 touchdowns. His heroics on the field earned him a spot in the 1970 Class AAAA all-state team as well as a full athletic scholarship to Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana.

Anthony received his B.S. in accounting from Louisiana Tech in 1974. During his time at Tech, two accomplishments would shape the rest of his life. First, his academic accomplishments would draw the attention to the Eastman Kodak Chemical Company (now Eastman Chemical) who recruited him to join their Accounting Department. Second, he met and won the heart of the "prettiest little thing he ever saw," Bonita Walters. He worked for Eastman for 27 years, retiring at the age of 53 as a Senior Accountant. He and Bonita were married in 1978 and remained together for what would have been 33 years in July.

Anthony had four children: "two boys and two women" as he would say. He loved them (and their children) dearly and helped them solve numerous problems throughout their lives. His generosity extended beyond his immediate family. Anthony selflessly donated his time, energy, and money to several worthy causes. From short-term loans to friends who were down on their luck to Juneteenth, NAACP, Black Metro Chamber, and Junior Achievement, he made himself available to all who needed him.

Anthony is survived by his wife, Bonita Jones; sons, Bryant and Corey Jones; daughters, Tandria Randal (Kirk) and Charlotte Jones-Burton (Delvin); grandchildren, Ki'Andria Sims, Corinthian Burton, Khai Randal, and Anthony Bryant Jones II; mother, Ruby Williams; father, Charles Jones; step-father, Herbert Williams; step-mother, Gloria Jones; aunts and uncles, Herman Lee Walker, Odell Walker, Rodell Walker, Freddie Walker, David Walker, and Lueteene Walker; and an endless number of other relatives and friends. We will all cherish the memories of "Tuff on Me" Tony the Tax Man Jones.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Hubert and Selma Walker; paternal grandparents, Frank and Teresa Givens, and brother, Steven Jones.
