Mrs. Arzella Dolores Stephens, 80, departed her earthly journey and entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 29, 2012 in Longview, Texas.
Born October 27, 193l in Marshall, Texas, to the parentage of Porter Brown and Mary Lee Whifield Brown. She graduated from Weldon High School and attended Texas College. She worked for numerous years in the health care and later as a domestic worker.
Arzella was a member of Center Baptist Church where she served faithfully and willingly. She worked in various ministries: Deaconess, Women's Missionary Society, Treasurer of Circle #2 W.M.S., Sanctuary Choir, Culinary Department, Secretary of Cemetery Committee and Janitorial Staff.
Arzella was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Joel Stephens; parents, sister, Pearlie Mae Cross and two grandsons, Cornelius Smith and Abram Stephens.
Survivors include her four devoted children: Shelia Faggans, Mary K. Stephens, Joel C. (Martha)Stephens and Joseph (Stephanie)Stephens; eight grandchildren: Nicholas Smith, Nicole (Haven)Wynne, Natashia, Chastity, Brittany, Ciara, Quinlan and Adrian Stephens; eight great-grandchildren: Terreka, Kyron, Taelor, Nikki, Kaiden, Chaston, Janiyah and Haven II; sister-in-law,Pennye Lucille Thomas; numerous nephews, nieces and special friends.
