A Memorial ceremony for Ms. Bertie L. Richardson, 78, will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Stanmore Funeral Chapel. There will not be a viewing.

Ms. Richardson was born May 19, 1934 to the late Willie and Georgia Washington in Winona, Texas.

She attended and graduated from Weldon High School in Gladewater, Texas. Ms. Richardson moved to Longview, Texas with her parents where she remained until 1958 when she moved to New York City.

She met and married Mr. James Clay Richarsdson and to this union no children were born.

Ms. Richardson worked for a law firm and later attended a community college in New York. Later, she became employed with the New York City Transit where she worked as a Tower Operator.

She moved back home to Longview, Texas on August 25, 2008 and four years later on August 25, 2012, she departed from life.

She leaves to cherish: One aunt, Frances M. Arps from Winona, Texas, devotes cousins and caretakers, Larry and Mattie Cuba of Longview, Texas, and a host of relatives and friends.
