Catherine Herndon, the eldest child of Rufus and Vivian Herndon was born October 14, 1947, in Mineola Texas. Catherine was called home to rest on August 6, 2026.

She was educated in Longview Independent School District and graduated from Mary G. Womack in Longview Texas. She continued her education in Kilgore, Texas at Kilgore Junior College. Catherine moved to California and began her career as an Executive Secretary Office Administrator.

While in California she met and married the love of life Paul Lawrence Dean, and to this union one son was born Paul Lawrence Dean, Jr.

Catherine was a devoted servant of God, a worker in the ministry of music, whose beauty was highlighted when she sang and praise God on the piano. She greatly loved God and love teaching and sharing God’s word with others. Once she started teaching you had to stay until she said," class dismissed". She will be greatly missed by her family, her church family, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband Paul Lawrence Dean, Sr. and her son Paul Lawrence Dean, Jr.

 Left to cherish her memories, her beloved brothers; Lafayette Herndon (Irene) and Rufus A. Herndon; two special friends, Audrey Tuck, and Gwendolyn Gray and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grand and great-grandchildren.

Her life was one of faith, love, and devotion. A legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
