Service will be held Sat. December 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. from the Wesley McCabe United Methodist Church in Longview; Rev. Virginia Wall officiating burial in Jordan Valley Memorial Park.

Catherine Johnson Taylor was born in Stephens, Arkansas on March 1, 1919. She was one of ten children born from the union of the late Van Johnson and Lula Johnson. She departed this life on December 9, 2011. She was a resident of Longview for over sixty years.

Catherine was a former member of McCabe United Methodist Church. After relocating to a different area of Longview she became a faithful member of Saint Paul Baptist Church. She was actively involved in Sunday School, Mission and the Choir until she became ill.

She leaves to cherish and embrace her memory nine children, Geryl D. Tucker (James) of Longview; Lonnie Taylor (Mary L.) of Marshall; Bobby Ray Taylor of Longview; Elouise Smith (Bobby Smith) of Longview; Louise Haley of Longview; Emmett Taylor Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK; Joyce A. Shirlee (Paul) of Arlington, TX; Dale E. Taylor of Longview; Kay Francis Wright of Longview; 30 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 21 great, great grandchildren; her church family and friends.
