Obituary

Funeral servies for Mrs. Earlene Bolden will be held Tues., March 9, 2010 from the Galilee Baptist Church, Inc., Rev. J.B. Dunlap, Pastor-Officiant and burial Jordan Valley Memorial Park.

Sister Earlene Bolden was born Tuesday, May 10, 1927, in Longview, Texas to the parentage of Anna and Alex Portley.

She became a faithful member of the Post Oak C.M.E. Church. Later, she moved her membership to Galilee Baptist Church.

Those who already answered the Master's call and waiting her arrival, her father Alex Portley Sr., brother Alex Portley Jr., and sisters Lounettie Bell and Thelma Perry.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted and loving husband of 47 years, Daniel Bolden Jr.; proud sons, Danny Bolden (Lynn), James H. Mathis (Ruby), John H. Mathis (Annetta), Floyd Bolden (Crystal), and Jerimiah Mathis (Breneda); mother, Anna Pouncy-Portley; sister, Rosie Liedy; sisters-in-law, Faye Chadwick, Oris Portley and Mattie Hawkins; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was loved dearly by the late Janet Mathis and will be fondly missed by Regenia Mathis-Heard, Brenda Bolden, and Darlene Bolden Blakemore along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
