Edith J. Devine-Allen, 69 of Longview passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2006, in Webster, Texas. Services for Ms. Devine-Allen, will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2006, at Galilee Baptist Church, Inc. with Rev. J.B. Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery in Longview.

She was born February 5, 1937 in Gregg County and was a member of Galilee Baptist Church, Inc. She retired from Longview Independent School Distrect after 30 years of service. Survivors include four children, Sheila Maxey, Walter Devine Jr., Terry Devine and Kim Devine-Mims; four sisters, Doris Tucker; Dorothy Thomas, Joyce Ann Turner, and Marva Gale Addison and one brother, Thomas Douglas Maxey. She was blessed wirh seven granddaughters and one great-grandson. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2006, at Stanmore Funeral Home.
