In Loving Memory of Mrs.Edna Mae Turner.

On April 30,1926,a ray of sunshine immersed when Edna was born to Howard Dorsey,Sr.and Hattie Duffy Dorsey in Port Arthur,Texas.Edna's parents preceded her in death.

A strong woman of Faith,she confessed her life to Christ.She completed her spiritual journey as a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church,Marshall,Texas.

Her formal education was at Lincoln High Scholl,Port Arthur,Texas,graduating as Salutatorian of her class.She graduated from Prairie View A&M University and was a trailblazer in her pursuit of education.

She began her teaching career as a substitute teacher working at Kelly Elementary School until 1960.She was a full-time teacher with the M.I.S.S.,until her retirement in 1986.After retirment,she volunteered as a student tutor.

Edna was a humble and virtuous woman who had the uncanny ability to balance her family and career.

She married Wilbur Turner,the dawn of a love affair on December 11,1950,a marriage that lasted for thirty-four years.He preceded her in death on April 29,1984.The union produced two children;Clinton and Samara Turner.

Her affiliations and organizations include:president,Marshall Education Association,Bethesda Baptist Church Deaconess Chairwoman,Sunday School Teacher,Adult Supervisor of the Youth Choir and Choir Member;The Ruth Circle,Upsilon Chapter,Zeta Phi Beta Sorority,Inc.and Prairie View A&M Alumni Association.

Edna will be remembered for her caring devotion to her family,friends and community.

Her Loving heart,gentle spirit and unselfish demeanor are indelibly etched in the memory of all those who knew and loved her.

Her legacy will be cherished by her son,Clinton Turner of Marshall,Tx;daughter,Samara Turner of Austin,Tx;two sisters,Patricia Carter of Pearland,Tx and Ursula Lewis of Port Arthur,Tx;a host of nieces,nephews,other relatives and friends.
