Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Pryor will be held Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. from the Growing Valley Baptist Church. Pastor Charles E. Faulks, Officiating. Burial - Jordan Valley Memorial Park.

Mrs. Eva Pearl Pryor was born July 30, 1917 to Chaldee Newhouse and Josie Daniels in Harrison County. Mrs. Pryor graduated high school in Marshall, Texas. She united with Pleasant Hill Baptist Church - Hallsville, Texas at an early age. Later, she married Brady Pryor and moved to Longview, Texas. After attending Cosmetology School, she became a licensed beautician. Eva and her husband Brady moved to Houston, Texas and this was their home for many years until her husband's death. She then moved to Dallas, Texas and united with People's Baptist Church. Later, she moved to Longview and joined Growing Valley Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir for many years. She was also active in Sunday School and Mission. Mrs. Pryor greeted everyone with a big smile and always wanted to help someone else. She loved people and never met a stranger. With her sense of humor and outgoing personality, she was a joy to be around.
Mrs. Pryor leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Annie B. Latson, Palestine, TX; a devoted niece, Nelderine Hooper, Longview; special nephew, Richard Pryor; other nieces and nephews including Mary Mickens (James), Gertrude Johnson, Zelma Harris (Clincy), James Norris (Sylvia), Herbert Norris (Evelyn), Winnifred Winfrey, Betty Norris, Nelvin Bailey, Annie Pearl Tillis (Tim), Namon Latson, Jr. (Brenda), Bernice Owens (Leandre), Jeanette Darden, Sandra Spencer, James Pryor and host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
