Services for Felix Lewis of Marshall, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Antioch Baptist Church, Karnack, with Rev. Isaac Lewis, Eulogist. Burial will be in Sipps Cemetery in Karnack, Texas.
MR. FELIX LEWIS, SR. was born June 17, 1929 to Frank Lewis, Sr. and Julia Walker Lewis. He attended school in Harrison County.
He married Rachel Brown. To this union, two children were born: Felix Jr. and Rose Mary. They preceded him in death.
In 1948, Mr. Lewis moved to Detroit, Michigan and lived there until retirement in 1974. He then moved to St. Paul, South Carolina.
Felix attended Cedar Clove Missionary Baptist Church until his health failed. In 1995, he returned home to Karnack, Texas to live with his sister, Gladys Lewis (Coon) until his death.
On Thursday, April 20, 2006, Mr. Lewis departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memories two devoted sisters: Gladys Lewis of Karnack, Texas and Emma Stewart of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Raymond Lewis of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters: Shelia Lewis of Detroit, Michigan and Jean Lewis of Fort Worth, Texas; two granddaughters: Stacie Cathleen Lewis and Selena Christiana Lewis both of Detroit, Michigan; as well as other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
His parents, six brothers, and one sister preceded him in death.
