Funeral Services for Mrs. Grace Newsome will be held, December 3, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., Lake Providence Baptist Church, Gilmer, Texas; Pastor Jimmy Moore, Officiating. Burial, Houston Cemetery.

GRACE T. NEWSOME was born November 17, 1912 in Upshur County, Gilmer, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Vannie Castle. Grace was the second oldest of twelve siblings.

She peacefully departed this life Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 6:28 a.m. at the Upshur Manor Nursing Home.

She attended New Hope School. As a young woman, Grace united with the Lake Providence Baptist and she was a devout missionary worker.

On February 15, 1927, Grace married the Late Garland Newsome, Sr. at the Tilman Farm. Four sons were born to this union; two of them preceded her in death at an early age.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories her sons, Garland Newsome, Jr. (Juanita) and John Newsome, Sr. (Carrie); brothers, John Ramond Castle of Hughes Springs, Texas and L.J. Castle of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Annie Walker of Gilmer, Texas and Frankie Elder of Dallas, Texas; a host of Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, Great-Great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
