Services for James E. Pete will be Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.H. Creal Sr. officiating. Interment Cypress Chapel Cemetery, Jefferson, Texas.

James E. Pete was born to the late Luvenia and Casie Pete on December 23, 1952 in Jefferson, Texas.

James attended Jefferson High School and later attended Kilgore Junior College where he earned his Associates degree in Mechanics.

Mr. Pete worked at Eastman Chemical Company and held numerous positions such as Maintenance Mechanic and Supervisor. He took great pride in his work and would not stop until the job was done. He was employed at Eastman for thirty-seven years until he departed this life.

James united in Holy Matrimony with Annie Ruth Webb in 1975. He was a devoted husband for thirty-six years. To this union one child was born, Monica Michelle Pete.

Mr. Pete was a hardworking good man with a big heart. He was a quiet man who loved the Lord. He was a wonderful grandpa and was willing to help anyone that he could.

Mr. Pete departed this life on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Good Shepherd Medical Center.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories a devoted wife, Annie Pete; a daughter, Monica Pete; his lovely granddaughter, Haylee; two sisters, Iola Kidd of Rockford, IL and Martina Moore of Orlando, FL; four brothers, Albert and wife Brenda Pete of Longview, TX, Otis and wife Sharon Pete of Houston, TX, Casie and wife Alma Pete of Marshall, TX, Ronnie Pete of Dallas, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his dear sister, Virgie Mae Kidd.
