Obituary

On August 9, 1957, Jerry was born to Elgie and Nelvin Bush.  He was called home on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. 

Jerry received his early spiritual guidance and spiritual upbringing from his mother, along with his other siblings. She would teach from a BIG white bible.  Jerry,  further his spiritual learning at the Golden Hill Baptist Church in Hallsville, TX.

He attended Hallsville Independent School District and was a graduate of the class of 1975. 

Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. After faithfully serving his country, various employment opportunities presented.

His employment began at an early age, working in the Bush family concrete finishing business with his father, and his brothers. He held other employment opportunities such as Satterwhite Log Cabins, Dickeys Concrete Business, USA Trucking, and ultimately owning his own company, Bush Trucking Company. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Elgie Bush Sr., two brothers; Byron and Elgie Bush, Jr.; one sister, Berlenthia Bush-Lowe.

Left to cherish his memories, is his mother, Nelvin Bush, his loving and supportive wife, Jean Bush who nurtured and cared for him until his death parted them. Nine children, Derrick Walker (Tammy), Antonio Cox, Tamekia Bush, Nicholus Bush, Brandon Bush, Sara Harris, Ciarra Harris, Devin Bush (Kinsey) and Myra Bush, four siblings, Sandra Halton, Douglas Bush, Lorenzo Bush (Kasandra) and Charles Bush (Pam), nineteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of very special family and friends.
