JERRY ALFRED WASHINGTON was born November 2, 1946, to the late Helen Gladys Banks and Benjamin Washington in Terrell, Texas.
He graduated from Burnett High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the Viet Nam War. Jerry was a Disabled Veteran.
On June 26, 1972, he united in Holy Matrimony to Cathy Stanmore. To this union four children were born.
He united with the Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Carranza Mothershed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Cathy S., Atlanta, Texas; Four Daughters: Niva Washington, Atlanta, Texas, Nina Richardson, Atlanta, Texas, GSM3 Andrea Washington, Hampton, VA and Dorothy Wafer, Atlanta, Texas; Two Sons: Sergeant Avery (Avie) Washington, Killeen, Texas and Gary Wafer, Atlanta, Texas; Ten Grandchildren; Six Sisters: Norma Smith, Helen Peterson, and Patsy Washington all of Dallas, Texas; Mae B. Brown, Nadine Hamilton, and Audrey Henderson all of Los Angeles, California; One Brother, Samuel Washington, Altus, Oklahoma; Mother-in-Law, Beatrice Stanmore; seven Brothers-in-law; three Sisters-in-law; and a host of Nieces, Nephews and other relatives.
