Mrs. Joyice Mae Alexander was born on May 1, 1924 to the parentage of Mr. Charlie Jones and Mrs. Carrie Porter Jones of Jefferson, Texas. She attended public school in Smithland.

On December 22, 1945, she united in Holy Matrimony with Mr. Webster Alexander, who preceded her in death. This union was blessed with 48 years of marriage and five children.

Those left to cherish her memories: Mother-in-law, A.V. Calhoun of Shreveport, Louisiana; 2 Daughters: Mary Alexander Jones (Orie) and Mildred Alexander both of Jefferson, Texas; 3 Sons: Leon Alexander of Jefferson, Texas, Hezzie Alexander and Kenneth Alexander of Dallas, Texas; 12 Grandchildren: Roderick Alexander, TeSha Alexander, Danielle Alexander, TaKeidra Alexander, Brandon Alexander, Ashley Alexander, Oriel Alexander, Shatara Manning, Tiara Alexander, LaKentra Alexander, Hezzie Alexander Jr., William Alexander; 7 Great-Grandchildren: India, Timias, Timontre', J'Mya, Ashton, Draelyn, Triniti; 4 Sisters: Charlesetta Williams of Jefferson, Texas, Mildred Fisher and Helen Tene Gregory of Dallas, Texas, Gloria Robinson (Tom) of Shreveport, Louisiana; 2 Brothers: Joe (Margrett) L. Jones of Jefferson, Texas and Maurice Jones (Ella) of Tyler, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
