A Celebration of Life ceremony for Mr. Kenneth Ray Jimerson, 52, of Longview, will be on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. at East Cotton Street Church of Christ. Burial will be in Grable Cemetery.
Mr. Kenneth Ray Jimerson, son of the late Mr. Jessie Jimerson and Doris Jean Bowie Jimerson of Longview, Texas was born on September 29, 1960. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Wayne Jimerson.
He attended Longview Public Schools, graduating from Longview High School in May 1978. He received his diploma and a certificate in Military Training, rang being First Sergeant.
He became a member of East Cotton Street Church of Christ at an early age. He was baptized at the age of 13 to serve the Lord as a steward and an usher in church.
He was a loyal employee of the Kroger Food Companies for 13 years, working as grocery, frozen food, and dairy manager. Combining his work with his education, he later attended Kilgore College and received his Associate's Degree in Mid-Management an dPresident of his Cabinet Club.
He earned numerous awards as member of the Jaycees, he was honored as Man of the Year, outstanding committee member, and was greatly appreciated for his outstanding attitude and dedication by the Jaycees of 1982. He served on the board of truastees at church and also as a youth counselor.
He was recognized by The State of Texas House of Representatives, served on th eFirst Black Rodeo Committee of Longview in 1984. He was a man that achieved numerous awards and recognition through his strong determination in all that he set his mind to do.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers, Jessie and James Jimerson; a siter, Bobbie Jimerson-Sheffield; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, loved ones, and many, many friends who truly loved him.
