Funeral services for Lucille Simmons will be Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Twelve Noon from the Red Oak Missionary Baptist. Pastor H. C. Rockmore Sr., Officiating, Burial, Perry Clay Cemetery.

Lucille, known to her family and friends as "Cil" was born October 6, 1940 in Yoakum, Texas to the late Alma Lewis Ford and Leo Raymond Davis.

She accepted Christ at a very young age at the Beth Elder Baptist Church in Yoakum, Texas and later united with the Antioch Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Upon moving to Longview, Texas she united with the Red Oak Baptist Church. She served as Food Director of the church and was a member of the Mass Choir where she sang a strong alto faithfully. Her education was received at Asberry High School in Yoakum, Texas and Phyllis Wheatly High School in San Antonio, Texas.

Lucille was employed at Fisherman's Market for 33 years and an avid "fisher-woman." Some of her happiest moments were when she was fishing or preparing a delicious meal for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Doris Davis; son, Brandon Leo Kyle; 4 sisters; 5 brothers and granddaughter, Brittanie.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories three devoted son, twins Michael Keith Simmons of Memphis, Tennessee and Mark Kevin (Kristi, beloved daughter-in-law) Simmons of Longview, Texas and Willie Simmons III "Treba" of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Gene Raymond Ford, who she truly loved of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, Sharell, Mark Jr., Blake and Blaine; one great-grandson, De'Kelvous Lloyd; a devoted friend and fishing partner, Linda Holland and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
