Obituary

Funeral services for Mamye Cole will be held, Friday, November 25, 2005 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Queen City, Texas, Rev. Billy E. Ford, Sr. Pastor and Rev. Lonnie Williams, Officiating. Burial Queen City Cemetery.

MAMYE RUTH COLE was born to Lodiwick and Marjorie Green in Springdale, Texas on July 3, 1932. Mamye Green married Ersel Cole, from that union three children were conceived, Barbara Bolden, Cynthia Patterson, and Ersel Cole, Jr.

Mamye knew Christ from a very young age. Although, in her late years she attended Christ Nation Church, her church home was Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Early in life Mamye knew that her calling was to help others. She answered her calling by achieving her LVN license; which she used to continue to help others for 19 years, by becoming the Charge Nurse in the ICU Nursery of Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston, Texas. She then continued her education by achieving her BSN and Master's degree's in Nursing. Her passion to care for others, lead her to work as the Supervisor Coordinator of Home Health for Visiting Nursing Association for over 20 years, where she eventually retired. She also has a host of degrees and accomplishments unmentioned.

Mamye is also survived by her mother, Marjorie Green; her siblings: Mary Thomas, Jeanette Pinkard, Mattie Hobbs, Juanita Lewis, Leonard Green, Catherine Martin, and Thyra Jones.

Those also left to cherish her memory are her three children: Barbara Bolden, Cynthia Patterson, and Ersel Cole, Jr.; her mother-in-law, Beatrice Stanmore; her grandchildren, Sammie Smith, Sabrenia Bolden Brownlee, Titus Cole, Ersle Cole III, Vatalie Cole, Claudette DeCoux, Lavonderic Patterson, Corey, Nikki, Stuart, and Laborn Stanmore; her great-grandsons-in-law, Rev. James Smith, James Brownlee, and Dennis DeCoux; a host of great-grandchildren, Lisa and Charlie Lott, Kiera, TyQueshia and Titus Cole II, Aaron, Brandon and Damaris DeCoux, and TyVon Patterson. Mamye will also be sadly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mamye was preceded in death by her father, Lodiwick Green; two brothers, Lodiwick Green, Jr. and James W. Green (O'Boy); her step-grandson, Ronnie Stanmore, Jr.; and her great-granddaughter, Christine Marie Bolden.
