Funeral services for Mr. Matthew Shankle will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from the Stanmore Chapel. Rev. H.C. Rockmore Sr., officiating. Burial Perry Clay Cemetery.

MR. MATTHEW SHANKLE was born January 8, 1953 in Longview, Texas to the late Emmitt and Jearline Shankle.

He received his education at Mary C. Womack (Longview High School).

Matthew accepted Christ at an early age at Red Oak Baptist Church in Longview, Texas.

Matthew leaves to cherish in his memory four children: daughters, Jearlene Shankle and Tamica Shankle-Jones both of Longview, Texas; sons, Jason Shankle and Justin Shankle both of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Emmitt Shankle (Joyce Ann) and George Shankle (Mary); sister, Vernedia Shankle; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Three brothers, Charles, Willie and Melvin Shankle and one sister, Julia Jones-Templeton preceded him in death.
