STANMORE FUNERAL HOME-Gilmer, TX

Funeral Services for Mr. Michael Eugene Tennison will be Saturday, December 31, 2005 from the Gilgal Baptist Church in Gilmer, TX. Rev. J.R. Mosley, Pastor; Rev. B.W. Craig, Officiating and Rev. Johnny Q. Brown, Master of Ceremonies. Burial Piedmont Cemetery.

HIS BEGINNINGS
Michael Eugene Tennison was born September 17, 1962 to the parentage of the Reverend Grady Lee Tennison, and Mrs. Artie Faye Steed Tennison.

HIS CHILDHOOD
He grew up in Gilmer, Texas and attended Gilmer Public Schools where he played Little League Softball at an early age. Michael graduated from Gilmer High School, Class of 1982. He was a member of the Gilmer High School Football Team, proudly wearing #74, that led the "Buckeyes" to the state in 1981. Also, he ran track, received metals for discus throwing, and was a member of Future Farmers of America (FFA).
Michael attended El Central College for two years, where he was majoring in Radiography Technician. Later, he was licensed by the Texas Structural Pest Control Board for pesticide spraying.
Two of Michael's favorite hobbies that he loved were fishing and hunting.

HIS OCCUPATION
Michael Eugene Tennison was the faithful and dedicated owner of Triple T Poultry and Eggs in Dallas, Texas. Later, he changed the business to Triple T Janitorial Services in Longview, Texas doing business with the State and Federal Agencies.

HIS SPIRITUAL LIFE
He accepted Christ at an early age. He united with the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Gilmer, Texas under the leadership of Rev. Jack Smith. He was a faithful member in attending Sunday School and other church activities. He was a drum player for their group "Song of Joy." Later, he moved to Dallas and united with New Zion Baptist Church, Rev. B. F. Brown serves as Pastor. He was an active member with the Brotherhood and Church Choir. Upon moving to Longview, he united with Bible Teaching Ministries (BTM) under the leader of Pastor R. L. Brazzle. Later, he united with True Vision Ministries where Rev. B. W. Craig serves as Pastor.

HOLY MATRIMONY
Michael Tennison and Sharon Roberson fell in love and was united in Holy Matrimony on March 21, 1987. To this union three children were born: Elizabeth Faye Tennison, Jessica La Sweet Tennison, and Michael Eugene Tennison, Jr.

HIS LEGACY
Michael Tennison was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Grady L. Tennison.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sharon Roberson Tennison; children: Elizabeth Faye Tennison, Jessica La Sweet Tennison, and Michael Eugene Tennison, Jr. all of Longview, TX; his mother, Mrs. Artie F. Steed Tennison, Gilmer, TX; sisters, Beverly Pearson and Peggy Tennison of Longview, TX; brothers, Rev. Kenneth Tennison of Mt. Pleasant, TX and Rev. Kerry Tennison of Houston, TX; aunties, Cora Lee Johnson and Betty Star of Longview, TX, Alma Calico of Kilgore, TX and Patty Steed of Houston, TX; uncles, L.C. Tennison and Hollis Tennison of Gilmer, TX, Ivy Tennison of Gladewater, TX, Roger Steed of Oklahoma City, OK, Tommy Steed of Houston, TX and Loyd Steed of Los Angeles, CA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. J. R. Roberson; one niece, Kayla Tennison of Houston, TX; four nephews, Floyd Pearson, Matthew Cameron, Joshua Lister all of Longview, TX and Dexter Tennison of Houston, TX; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of cousins and many, many friends.
