Services for Damian Damon Burkes of Longview are on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church. Visitation will be on Friday, July 13th from 6-7 p.m.
The final resting place will be in Gracehill Cemetery.

Damian Damon Burkes passed from this life on Friday, July 6th. "Sweet Pea" as he was called, was born to parents Arthur L. Mack and Janet Burkes Mack on December 11, 1973. He attended Longview I.S.D. from kindergarten through high school, where in middle school he was a member of the football team, band, and played the drums. Damian was well liked amongst his classmates, admired for his friendly, sweet nature and his sense of style. He received the title "Most Handsome" in his senior class and graduated from LHS in 1991. He resided with his mother in Longview after graduation. Damian was known for having such a "big heart" where he shared his love for family andrelished in the tines his family would all get together. His most proud moment was when he became a father and expressed the deepest, greatest love where his heart completely filled with joy his daughter, Kymber Burkes.

Damian was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Norman Sr. and Mary Burkes, his paternal grandfather, Otis M. Mack, sister Kimmon Denise Mack, uncle Norman Burkes Jr., aunt Louise Burkes and cousins, Dakar A. Burkes and Kevin Burkes. He leaves to celebrate his passing, a devoted and loving mother, Janet Burkes Mack, father Arthur L. Mack, paternal grandmother Addie B. Mack and the love of his life, daughter Kymber McKale Burkes, brothers Dabriel Jabbar Burkes, Tysone Dacord Mack, Jaylon Mack, uncles David Burkes, Dewitt Burkes, Tommy Burkes, Otis L. Mack, Eddie J. Mack, and Willie L. Csanada. Aunts Sandra Smith, Terrell Burkes, Cobbia Burkes, Hattie M. Canada, and Dorothy M. Ross, cousins Darling Gurkes, COlette Dudley, Renita Phillips, Yvonnda Singleton, David Burkes III, Stephen Burkes, Kinshara Burkes, Chaka Burkes, Niki (Brandi) Burkes, Keith Burkes, Sharifa Smith, Michael Brown and a host of many more cousins, nephews, nieces, and other close relatives and friends who all loved him dearly. He will be truly missed by all in his passing.
