A Celebration of Life ceremony for Mr. Murry Porter, 56, will be on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Stanmore Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Jordan Valley Memorial Park.

Mr. Murry Porter was born on August 27, 1926 to the late Lonzy and Juliann Alex Porter. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Curtis Porter, L.J. Thomas, Johnnie B. Porter, and Raymond James Porter.

He attended Longview schools and later worked in Forney, Texas as a construction worker and farmer.

Loving memories will be cherished by his sister, Willie B. Austin, of Gladewater, Texas; sister-in-law, Sheila Porter of Los Angeles, California; brothers, Lonnie Porter of Los Angeles, California; and Ike Porter (aka) Omar J. Malik of Detroit, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends and loved ones.
