Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Davis, June 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from the Red Oak Baptist Church, Pastor H.C. Rockmore, Officiating. Burial, New Hope Cemetery in Bullard Texas.

Mrs. Pauline Christopher Davis was born December 27, 1918, to the parents of Peal Ballard Christopher and Sam Christopher in Bullard, Texas

She united with the New Hope Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member until she moved to Longview, Texas in 1956. After moving to Longview, she united with the Red Oak Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health diminished. Her service was well rendered in the following auxiliaries: School Teacher, Deaconess Board, Kitchen Committee, WMU, Homebound Mission, Co-Captain of the Birth Month Rally and Family Choir Member. The East Texas Baptist Association, Tyler, Texas honored Pauline as "Outstanding Women of the Year". She was also a visible volunteer worker for Habitat for Humanity of Longview.

She attended Butler College for two years and two years at Texas College, both in Tyler, Texas . She did extra activities and courses at East Texas State in Commerce, Texas and North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. In 1942 she united in Holy Matrimony to Marvin Davis.

Pauline was an educator and taught ten years at Larissa Elementary School in Cherokee County. In 1956, she was employed by the Longview Independent School District where she taught for fourteen years at Rollins Elementary. After integration, she taught for sixteen years at Jodie McClure Elementary, then retired.

In 1957, a son was added name Bertrude Snoddy, better known as Bert Wayne Davis. He was given to the couple when he was three months of age and he is their one only child.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Davis and sisters, Stampaline Sanford and Latrice Ross.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Bertrude Snoddy (Vickie) of Tyler, Texas and Cornell Cooper Davis (Lois) of Longview; two brothers, Andrew D. Christopher of Bullard, Texas and Adolphus Christopher; four grandchildren, Rasheena Lacy of Marshall, Texas, Tina Parmley of Fort Worth, Texas, Debertran Richardson of Longview, Texas and Kendrew Redmond of Tyler, Texas; other devoted and caring relatives and friends.
