Phyllis Cristell Amie Young was born May 26, 1960 to Melissa Johnson Amie Tatum and Vaxton Sneed. She attended Marshall Public Schools and graduated from Marshall High school in May 1978.

In 1986, she married Henry Young III.

At an early age, she united with the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Clinton Jernigan. She worked as a housekeeper at Suburban Acres Nursing Home for many years and later as a bus driver aide for Marshall Independent School District.

Both parents and two brothers, Billy Ray Amie and Calvin Amie preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing a loving husband, Henry Young III; a daughter, Jameshia Young; a step-daughter, Aundria Young Sadler; five sisters: Earline Harris and Shaylor Watson of Dalls, Texas; Cecily (Wendell) Graves, Wilma (Nolan) Godfrey and Alma Bailey of Marshall, Texas; six brothers: Roshern (Lu Ann) Amie of El Paso, Texas, Piarus (Donna) Tatum of Albuquerque, New Mexico, James Sneed, Charles (Glenda) Sneed, and Joseph Sneed of Marshall, Texas; and Kenneth Perkins of Dallas, Texas; one aunt, Emma Jean (Wilbert) Martin of Marshall, Texas; a mother-in-law, Lizzie Young; two brothers-in-law: Billy (Leola) Young and Bobby Young; two sisters-in-law: Joyce Williams and Ola Faye Rice; 6 grandchildren; 10 nieces; 3 nephews; 6 great-nieces; 1 great-nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.
