Obituary

Funeral Service for Sam Lanier will be held Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Galilee Missionary Baptist of Longview with Pastor J. B. Dunlap, officiating. Burial Jordan Valley Memorial Park.

Sam Rubin Lanier was born September 24, 1936 in Harrison County to John and Cliola Spence Lanier.
Sam was a graduate of Mary C. Womack High School.
He united in matrimony to Bertha Nell Wells Lanier, where they raised five sons.
Due to poor health, he retired from USI after 20 years of employment.
He was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, John Lanier Jr. and Roscoe Lanier.
Sam leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife Nell; sons, Sam (Carlos), Stelvin (Shanece), Roy, Pat and Micheal all of Longview; one adopted daughter, Janice Bradley; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Pat and Elmo of Houston, Texas; 4 sisters, Ola Mae and Johnnie Jewel both of Longview, Hazel and Naomi both of Denver, Colorado; one uncle, Lacy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
