Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Smith will be held Sat. March 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. from the Greater Mount Gideon Baptist Church. Evang. Demond L. Tolliver, Officiating. Burial, Jordan Valley Memorial Park.

MRS. VERA "BABY" GARRISON SMITH was born to the parents Frank and Stella Garrison. the joyous day of birth was May 3, 1912.

At an early age, Vera united with the Greater Mount Gideon Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend K. F. Smith.

She received her education in Logansport, Louisiana. Her years of employment was with the Longview Independent School District.

God saw Vera getting weary, so he extended the hand of Sweet Peace for Vera to come and rest on Friday, March 16, 2007 at her home in Kilgore, Texas. The angels came to escort Vera home.

Vera Garrison Smith's memory will be cherished by a loving husband, Ruben Smith of Kilgore, TX; one daughter, Annie B. Lafayette of Longview, TX; one sister, Frankie Garrison Woodrow of Sacramento, CA; a host of nieces and nephews in Longview, Dallas, Cedar Hill, and Houston, Texas; Moreneo Valley, Sacramento, San Diego, Norwalk and Elm Grove, California and Monroe, Louisiana along with a host of friends.
