A Celebration of Life ceremony for Vita Morales Chavez, 61, of Longview, will be on Saturday at 2 p.m., December 15, 2012 at Stanmore Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Rockmore will be the officiating eulogist. A wake will be on Friday, December 14th from 7-8 p.m. at Stanmore Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery in Harleton, Texas.

Mrs. Vita Chavez was born to the late Juan and Mary Thomas Hill in New Orleans, Louisiana. She united with Longview Baptist Temple in 1980, where she continued to worship Christ as her personal savior. Vita attended Longview schools and later enrolled in college. Vita served her country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps shortly after she finished college.

Vita leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Roberto Chavez of Longview; one sister, Sandra Hill of Dallas, Texas; one brother, John Hill, Jr. of Oakland, California. She also leaves behind Chella, her best friend, and a host of relatives and friends.
