Funeral Service for Mr. Willie Kidd will be 11:00 a.m Friday, December 31, 2010, at Post Oak C.M.E. Church, with the Rev. C. Mitchell officiating and the Rev. Dr. Clarence Kidd providing the eulogy. Burial will be in Post-Oak Union Cemetery under the direction of Stanmore Funeral Home.

Willie James Kidd was the fifth child born to the parentage of the late Rev. B.D. Kidd Jr. and Ruth Ann Coleman Kidd. James was born April 15,1944 in Benton,Louisiana, and at the tender age of seven, he united with New Zion C.M.E. Church under the pastorage of the late Rev. J.C. Campbell. He attended New Zion Elementary and graduated from C.H. Iron High School in 1962.

While attending Grambling State University, he decided to marry his hometown sweetheart, Mary Louise Moore, on March 12,1967. From this union, they were blessed with three beautiful children, Leisha, Lori and Lane.

Willie James Kidd joined Post Oak C.M.E. Church in 1981 and had been an active member until his death. After 25 years of service to Exxon Pipeline Co., Willie James retired in 1995 to start his second profession, fishing.

He leaves to hold and embrace his memories, a wife of 43 years, Mary Louise Moore Kidd; daughters,Leisha Kidd-Brooks(Bernard) of Longview,Texas and Lori Kidd-Ceasar (Stacy) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; son, Lane Kidd(fiance Donna Clark)of Lancaster, Texas; two brothers,Felcie Kidd of Los Angeles, California, and Clarence Kidd (Emma) of Shreveport, Louisiana; three sisters, Magie Campbell, Jessie B(Monroe Sr.) Stith and Joyce Ann Kidd, all of Benton, Louisiana; two brothers-in-law, Henry Moore Jr. (Lou) of Benton, Louisiana, and Michael Moore of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; six grandchildren,Keelan Pryor, Alyssa Ceasar, Donovan Brooks, Addison Ceasar, Maleah Brooks and Lathan Kidd. He also leaves one aunt, Jessie Black of Benton, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, the Rev. Coleman Kidd.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. December 30, 2010 at the Stanmore Funeral Home.
